Metro Morning is now at 7:20 a.m., due to a last-minute change. Philip gets to sleep an extra hour!
The CBC Radio Toronto morning show Metro Morning has scheduled an interview about Scriptus with our handsome spokesman, Philip Akin. Tune in to 99.1 FM, at 6:25 7:20 a.m. on Friday, October 31!
As if you weren’t already excited enough…
For the paper lovers on Sunday we have another raffle prize. Robert Wu is one of the few artisans in the world who creates stunning traditional marbled paper. He has generously donated three sheets to Scriptus for the raffle.
Each sheet is a full 18″ x 24″, and is suitable for use in bookbinding, box-making, scrapbooking, and other paper crafts.
Another of our striking highlights is a custom-made ball-point pen by Chris Hughes, of Appleman Pens. Takes regular Parker refills; valued at $75.
Again, from our finest raffle temptations, comes a lovely package from one of our sponsors, Refinemark Print Design:
Prize includes a selection of our finest script products, including our limited edition “Scriptus Pen” card. Includes a stationery box, to hold everything. Total value exceeds $450.
Scriptus is looking for a few hardy souls to help out with the smooth running of the show. We are looking for help in the following areas:
- Manning the raffle/information table throughout the show;
- Morning & afternoon loading dock guard;
- Miscellaneous things, as we think of them!
We deeply appreciate our volunteers; without them the show can’t run smoothly. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts, in advance. And, of course, we are more than happy to waive the entry fee for them, and their entire extended families… Oh.
If you are willing to help, even for just a part of the day, please send an email to:
Update: our first volunteer was within 15 minutes! Huzzah!
We are happy to highlight another raffle prize, this time generously provided by Staedtler North America (click description to embiggen):
After months of hard work, Scriptus 2014 is nearly upon us. In just under two weeks Toronto will have it’s first pen show in over four years, and it’s first ever stationery show!
We are pleased to announce the release of a finalized floor plan. The venue is a beautiful one, but even the best venue has it’s challenges. Who needs electricity? How do you place different types of exhibitors? Who gets put under the back stairwell? (Philip does, of course!)
But after hours of deliberation, we have a finalized map and list of vendors. It is available in pdf format, which can be downloaded to your portable device, or printed out in hard copy. Copies will also be available at the show, right at the entrance.
So get planning! Inks, paper, or pens first? We are looking forward to seeing you there.
